To pass the Scientific Module in full, conferences of at least 5 days must be attended and at least one of these must be a KSOP external conference.

To send the KSOP office your request for scientific module recognition, please use the template on the KSOP-PhD-Sharepoint (http://www.ksop.kit.edu/sharepoint.php; PhD - Documents - Scientific Modules) to send the conference/summer school attendance after the respective event to the KSOP Office.

Thereafter, the KSOP Office will place the conference/summer school title on the KSOP certificate.

The active participation in international scientific conferences and summer schools (e.g., CLEO, OSA, NATO, CFN) is encouraged by KSOP.
The immersion into the international scientific community is an integral part of a Ph.D. work and fosters networking with scientists from all over the world. The participation in international conferences or summer schools is acknowledged as Scientific Modules.
We further offer a KSOP Summer School every two years as well as the Karlsruhe Days of Optics & Photonics (KDOP).
